La Rosa nel Borgo
Hi everyone!! It’s Rosanna and Giorgio welcoming you at LA ROSA NEL BORGO.
In the historic centre of La Morra, after long and skilful renovations of a late 1700s houses, we created a holiday home. Two houses with three apartments and rooms. Three bathrooms, three kitchens, four bedrooms, a terrace and a garage. The renovations were done so as to preserve the style of the traditional Piedmontese houses: exposed brick vaults, elegant furnishings, functional kitchens and comfortable wooden beds.
The outdoor terrace enjoys plenty of sun during the day; in the cool summer evenings, it is the perfect place to spend relaxing moments on the comfortable lounging chairs. It is also a great place to dine under the stars.
La Rosa nel Borgo is the ideal place for a pleasant vacation in the town of La Morra. The town centre is just a few steps away and features excellent restaurants and food and wine shops. Fresh bread, cakes and sweets are available every day at the nearby baker’s.

CASCINA BALLARIN & ALBERTO VIBERTI
(Giorgio & Son)
At La Morra everyone calls us Ballarin, but our real name is Viberti. Ballarin has been the family nickname for generations.
In 1928, our great-grandfather and grandfather, after working for several years as farmers in another farm, began to build their house, cellar, stable and barn. For many years, the company activities were centred on the cultivation of fruit, grapes, cereals, hazelnuts, as well as on raising cattle and producing wine.
Our transformation and specialization in viticulture began 25 years ago. Some of the old crops were replaced by vineyards, the warehouse was renovated and tuned into a wine cellar, the stable and the barn, after significant renovations, became guest rooms and finally we built a small agri-camping for our guests who want to enjoy the open air and immerse themselves in nature.
Today at Cascina Ballarin we grow grapes in our own vineyards in La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, Novello and produce wine in our own cellar. Barolo is our main wine. Different types of Barolo are produced separately from different vineyards in order to preserve the nuances that different types of soil offer. In addition, we produce Barbera d’Alba , Dolcetto d’Alba , Langhe Rosso e Langhe Bianco.
A small wine production born 3 years ago by Alberto Viberti, son of Giorgio and Rosanna.
Alberto speaks: “ I am in love with the wine and its world, its colors, its perfumes, its charm. I love its sense of belonging and its ability to create sharing and emotion. It’s few years I’m working in my family winery, the Cascina Ballarin, and I had the opportunity to have two extraordinary professional life experiences in Australia (Torbreck) and in South Africa (Arcangeli), working with highly qualified winemakers and colleagues.
I learned so much and met extraordinary people, then became friends and part of my life. During one of these trips I began to do tests in my cellar independently. The curiosity and ambition to create something of mine have always supported me on this path. Obviously I will continue with dedication and willingness to produce wine with my family but I’m happy and excited to start this new adventure.
After so many efforts, indecisions, tastings and second thoughts I finally see my dream come true. Today I feel 100% a (small) wine producer of Langhe and Roero. “
